Nonna Privacy Policy

Information on your Mac

Nonna stores your reminders, habit settings, chosen name, personality preferences, and setup choices locally on your Mac. It uses this information to show reminders and personalize the app. There is no Nonna account or cloud synchronization.

The app does not send your reminder content or preferences to its developer, and it does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking. The Mac App Store version includes no third-party SDKs. The Setapp version includes only Setapp's own framework, described in If you use Nonna through Setapp.

Optional Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence runs on-device: Nonna uses the model on your Mac, so your reminder text is not sent to Apple, to Nonna's developer, or to any server.

On compatible Macs, optional Apple Intelligence processes reminder text on your device. Personalized messages use the reminder title, chosen name, tone, and mood. Quick reminder entry uses the text you enter, a reference date, and your local time zone to suggest a reminder for your review. You confirm it before saving.

You can disable Apple Intelligence in Your Nonna. Written reminder messages and common English time phrases remain available without it.

Pointer interaction and Focus

Nonna observes pointer movement and clicks to open the notch and animate the character. It does not record a pointer history or monitor text you type in other applications. A Focus Filter receives whether Nonna should stay quiet in the Focus modes you explicitly connect in System Settings.

App Store trial and purchases

This section applies to the Mac App Store version. Apple handles the App Store, trial activation, purchases, and restoration under Apple's privacy policy. Nonna uses StoreKit to retrieve prices and verified purchase history and to process your purchase or restore request. Trial and purchase status are evaluated on your Mac. Reminder content is not sent with these requests, and Nonna's developer does not receive your payment card details through the app.

If you use Nonna through Setapp

Setapp is a subscription service for Mac apps, operated by MacPaw. In the Setapp version, your Setapp membership unlocks Nonna: there is no App Store trial or in-app purchase.

The Setapp version includes Setapp's framework, which communicates with Setapp to confirm your membership and to report app usage, such as when Nonna is opened. Setapp uses this to manage your subscription and to pay developers. MacPaw handles this information under the Setapp Privacy Policy.

Nonna does not share your reminders, habits, or preferences with Setapp, and Nonna's developer does not receive your Setapp account or payment details.

Support messages

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to respond to your request. Avoid sending sensitive reminder content when an example would explain the problem.

Support messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and related follow-up, or to meet applicable legal obligations. You can ask about or request deletion of support correspondence by emailing hello@withnonna.com.

Your choices and deletion

You can delete personal reminders, edit or delete habits, change preferences, disable Apple Intelligence, and turn off launch at login in the app. Your local information stays on your Mac until you remove it. Ending a trial does not delete your saved data. Uninstalling an app may leave local settings behind; contact support if you need help removing Nonna's settings.

We do not operate a server-side Nonna account or reminder database. Apple and Setapp manage their own purchase and membership records under their policies; deleting local app data does not delete those records.
